Back seat driving

KT was a driver to one of Bollywood’s biggest villains. “He is a good guy. I never had any problems with him,” he remembers. “But I always had a panga with his wife.”
The problem with the lady, as KT puts it, was that she was heavily into “peechla seat drivergiri“.
“She would always be throwing instructions at me – ‘Go slow’, ‘Go fast’, ‘Why did you take such a sharp turn?’, ‘You are driving in the wrong gear.’ ”
Exasperated, one day KT couldn’t take it any more.
The villain lived on Pali Hill, Bandra. As KT was driving uphill one morning, the lady launched into one of her usual tirades.
Halfway up the hill, he suddenly stopped the car. He removed the keys and threw them next to the maalkin. “I am not working for you any more,” announced KT, and strode off coolly.
He doesn’t know what happened next.
“But I am sure she would not have been able to drive uphill on her own from the spot where I had left her,” he says with an evil grin on his face.
