Back in school, the highlight of course, was Padma Khanna’s ‘Husna ke lakho rang’. But my first thought during the latest viewing was: ‘Why is she swinging her legs wildly in the air?’ and then, ‘My, what thundering thighs!’ The climax just seemed to drag on and on… didn’t expect this from master editor Vijay Anand. But his brilliantly picturised songs, particularly ‘O mere raja’ and ‘Pal bhar ke liye’ more than made up for the shortcomings.

  1. ‘Sajna hai mujhe sajna ke liye’-Saudagar- this was her best movie. I have vivid memories of this film. Even Amitabh Bachchan is different here. Otherwise , she was just another side-kick dancer.

  2. Oh yes she was very good in Saudagar. And that song remains one of my all-time favourites. I believe she later switched over to Bhojpuri movies and had a successful run there.
