Impressed: A scientist’s investments

leave a comment »

You normally wouldn’t associate a man of science with prudent investments. Yet there is SU, a family friend and a scientist in a Bombay-based firm. In 2004, he bought a row house near his place for Rs. 21 lakh. About six months ago, just before the real estate bubble burst, he sold it for Rs. 50 lakh, a neat appreciation of 138 per cent. He has invested the full amount in a 3 BHK flat in New Bombay. I shall not be surprised if he makes a fantastic killing here too.
