Indian Indian bhai bhai

My rakhi sister MK is not only a dog lover but also a very sociable person.
One morning while she was out with her pugs Yogi and Yoyo, I saw a man having an animated discussion with her.
“You know how I became his owner?” he asked, pointing at his large, golden brown alsatian.
“He was an abandoned stray living on a service road near my housing complex. One night, he was beaten up mercilessly with sticks and stones by some drunk boys and left to die. My building watchman told me about his pitiable condition. I got the dog treated, nursed him back to health and adopted him.”
Then came his punchline: “If an Indian will not look after another Indian, then who will?”

Kahat Kishoreji: A matter of the mind

A housewife was being constantly tortured by her MIL (Mother In Law}.
Fed up, she went to a local Bengali Baba and told him, “Give me something. I want to get rid of my MIL.”
The baba gave her a packet of powder and told the housewife, “Put a little of this every night in her dinner.”
“Also”, he added, “don’t react to anything she says. Irrespective of how she tortures you mentally, just smile at her.”
This went on for 20 days. During this period, the MIL continued to torture her DIL (Daughter In Law). But when she responded with a smile, a gradual transformation came over the old lady. Soon, she stopped harassing  her DIL altogether.
Happy – and alarmed – the housewife rushed to the Bengali Baba.
“My MIL has turned a new leaf,” she exclaimed. “Please give me something to reverse the effect of the poison I was giving her all these days.”
The baba smiled and told her: “Don’t worry. Nothing will happen to your MIL. You did not give her any poison. That was a harmless powder that I had given you. I did all this only to remove the poison from your brain.”
